“ This food court serves many of the Penang famous street food. There is no air conditioning but we do not feel hot during our meal. The stall owners are friendly. Please note that few of them only collect cash, so prepare some cash. When we walked in, we smelled very fragrant curry. The store is not ready yet and it will be too heavy for breakfast. We ordered the okay Toew Thoeng, Wanton Mee, Che Cheong Fun, and Poh Piah. They all tasted good. ”
“ Well hidden inside Prima Tanjung is the Old City Food Court, which is home to about 20 hawkers. Three variety of food is quite astounding, but what's even more surprising is that the food here is all good. There are a few popular stalls here that sells out fast so people normally come early before lunch to ensure that they manage to get what they want. Parking along the roadside is available but you may have to make a few rounds too get one. It's easier to just park inn the underground cat park where a space is always ensured, art a small price. I liked the Thai pork leg rice, located at the far end of the food court. Gives it a try if you're not you too the usual Penang fare. ”
“ walk in and get full sense of place. lot of options, especially on thai side. speaking of which, thai kuay teow soup is really good. black broth is chock full of umami, and deep heat that wants to kick arse. thai kuay teow, with diaphanous construction, is also nicer than the local variant. ditto "penang" curry mee, which pitches on acidic rather than lemak here. flavourful, and markedly thai inflected. char kuey teow is good, with duck egg nicely worked in. fried rice, from same stall, is overly charred and less so. chicken porridge is likewise good, with full load of liao. could do with more disintegration though. bakery next door is joy to the world. pair with coffee here. this place is unfortunately runt of litter in comparison to big dogs up road and across street. both in daylight and darkness. like ladyhawke, but even worse. ”
“ Bumped into this food court after awhile......many stalls inside, clean but a little hot inside just for a take away. Nice old school Wan Than mee by an pleasant elderly lady. All the usual culprits are here.....ho fun, char kway teow, dim sum, Thai food, chicken rice etc. Since I only took away 1 dish, its not fair to comment on the other food. There's even a small local bakery at the right hand entrance selling some bread, cakes and goodies. ”
“ Went here for the Thai food, which is quite good and value for money. The food court itself is clean, but can get quite stuffy. There are blower fans blowing everywhere, which can get really windy. Parking can be bad, so be prepared. There are also alot of seats in this food court. There are beams that prevent people from bringing in their motorbikes into the area, but that means that wheelchair users might face problem. ”
